Spain held by Cape Verde in 1st major WC shock

Call it the first shock of the World Cup. Spain, among the favourites, were held to a 0-0 draw by Cape Verde, who defended with discipline and no little nerve to claim a famous point.
Spain dominated the ball, as they always do, but for all their possession the clear chances would not come. Cape Verde packed their defensive third, broke when they could, and held firm as the clock ran down.
It is one point that will feel like three for the underdogs, and a frustrating evening for a Spain side that will need to be far sharper in front of goal.
